Job Opportunity: First Team Chef

Leeds Rhinos are recruiting for a part-time Chef to work with their Men’s first team.

Location; Bartercard Training Complex, Leeds
Salary; Competitive, based on previous experience.
Reporting to: Rugby General Manager on day-to-day matters, and ultimately the Sporting Director.
Leeds Rhinos is looking for an experienced Chef to provide high quality food provision for its elite athletes.

Essential Requirements:
• At least 2 years’ experience as a professional Chef
• Provide a minimum of 6 freshly cooked meals per week, structured to be effective for the teams needs
• Provide food prep only for away game
• Ability to communicate to a high standard in both written and oral formats
• Computer literate

Principle duties/ activities:
• Work with and build relationships with suppliers
• Purchase food and supplies from vendors approved by the company
• Maintain stock levels and ensure everything is up to date
• Keep the Kitchen and dinning area fully equipped with all the tools and inventory required
• Ensure the quality of food is consistently high and that hygiene standards are exceeded
• Organise budgets and finances for the kitchen and maintain records
• Prepare the food for the players and staff
• Ensure the food provision needs of the players are being met
• Liaise with coaching staff and the General Manager as necessary

Skiils & Qualifications:
• Excellent Knowledge of culinary ingredients and practices
• Technical cooking skills
• Creative skills
• Ability to work in challenging environments, while maintaining high standards
• Organisational and administrative skills
• Food hygiene and food preparation qualifications

This is a part-time role of 32 hours per week and you must be flexible in your commitment to this role as you may need to work evenings and weekend. The salary will be dependent on the successful applicant’s skills, experience and qualifications.
