NEXT UP | Round Six vs Warrington Wolves

Fresh off Saturday's win over Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos head to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday night to take on Warrington Wolves in the 5,000th Super League match live on Sky Sports Action, kick off 8pm.

Ahead of Friday's game, here's your match preview:

Opposition Overview

Warrington's tight win over St Helens last time out sees them enter round six level on points with Leeds and they know a win would close them in on the leaders Hull KR and Leigh Leopards.

After coming up 80 minutes short of an Old Trafford outing in 2024 as they lost to Hull KR in the semi finals, Sam Burgess' second year at the helm saw the club invest in a handful of new recruits as well as elevating the talent within its Academy. Oli Leyland got early minutes since his move from London Broncos, as well as PNG international Dan Russell who has been an addition to the pack. Three rounds in, they also added Marc Sneyd from Salford too as a senior half to play alongside the ever-influential George Williams. Aaron Lindop's rise continues in 2025 as he has three tries in five games, but Burgess hasn't been shy to give Cai Taylor-Wray, Adam Holroyd and Max Wood their opportunity to make the step up to Super League after impressing in the Reserves and Academy competitions last year.

It's been an inconsistent start to the year for the wolf pack as they managed to squeeze past Huddersfield in round one, as well as Catalans in round two; Matt Dufty crossing in both contests. Round three's visit to Las Vegas was a tough outing at Allegiant Stadium as they fell to a 48-24 defeat at the hands of the reigning champions Wigan, which was compounded by a loss to Wakefield on home soil a week later.

Last time out though, they managed to overcome St Helens 14-12 thanks to tries from Matty Ashton and George Williams. The result moved them up to seventh in the table - a spot behind Leeds on points difference - ahead of the two sides meeting this Friday. They will also have an eye on the Cup quarter final clash against Saints too as the Wolves look to take the next step towards Wembley.
