NEXT UP | Round Five vs Wigan Warriors

The Betfred Super League returns for round five, and Leeds Rhinos close out Saturday's fixtures in a blockbuster clash with the reigning Super League Champions Wigan Warriors at AMT Headingley, kick off 5.30pm.

Ahead of the club's French trip, here's your match preview:

Opposition Overview

Since losing their opening week game in a golden point clash with Leigh Leopards, the Warriors have picked up the form that won them four titles in 2024 with three wins in their last three outings. Matt Peet's side immediately responded to their round one loss with a dominant display against Hull FC as Jai Field posted three tries in the 46-6 win over Jon Cartwright's black and white's side. The result gave them the perfect springboard into round three's clash with the Wolves in Las Vegas, where the Warriors flexed their muscles once again in a convincing 48-24 win over Sam Burgess' side.

Field was among the try scorers again as seven different Wigan players found the try line at Allegiant Stadium, including Tyler Dupree and Luke Thompson (pictured below). On their return to the UK a week ago, Huddersfield looked to test Peet's side on home soil, but a dominant second half saw the Cherry and Whites rack up another 40 point in to put themselves fourth in the league standings.

Fresh from a weekend where they booked their place in the quarter finals of the Betfred Challenge Cup, they arrive in Leeds having lost out 30-4 to the Rhinos at AMT Headingley in 2024. Since the start of the Super League era in 1996, this week's game will be the 35th meeting between the sides - 15 of which have been Wigan wins.
