Everything you need to know about... Catalans Dragons

Saturday night Rugby League sees Leeds Rhinos run out at the Stade Gilbert Brutus as they clash with Catalans Dragons in round four of the Betfred Super League, kick off 5.30pm live on Sky Sports.
This week's opponents are without a win three rounds into the new league campaign having lost to Hull FC, Warrington and Leigh so far. This week's clash with the Rhinos sees Steve McNamara hope to turn his side around with plenty of the season to attack.
Here's more on the Dragons:
A brief history in Super League...
History was made in the Betfred Super League in 2006 when Catalans Dragons became the first French team since Paris St Germain to represent Le Bleus in the competition, and 19 years later, the club still holds their own under the eye of Steve McNamara.
Although fans are used to seeing the Dragons challenging at the top of the table, this wasn't the case when they first joined the league. 2006 and 2007 saw the side win 18 of 55 games, but Michael Potter started to turn the side in the right direction heading into 2008 when they mustered up a third-place finish in the league table and won their first Play Off game in a 46-8 routing of Warrington on home soil. Queensland state international Kevin Walters' tenure delivered another Play Off appearance as the side came within 80 minutes of a Grand Final. A year later, was a different story as they dropped to 14th and Walters was replaced by Trent Robinson.

Laurent Frayssinous' five year period saw the Dragons continue to finish in the Play Off spots, but after a dicey 2017 campaign almost saw the club get relegated through the Million Pound Game, former England boss Steve McNamara began his work to eventually walk the club out on the Grand Final stage.
Silverware arrived at the Stade Gilbert Brutus in McNamara's first campaign as the side lifted the Challenge Cup in 2018, but their performances in the league took a turn when a side led by James Maloney and Sam Tomkins won the League Leaders' Shield and walked out at their first Grand Final in 2021. The side was top four finishers a year later as Leeds got the better of the Dragons in week one of the Play Offs, but they were back at Old Trafford at the climax of the 2023 season, after a miracle try from Tomkins beat St Helens in a thrilling semi final. Both the Dragons' outings in the season finale ended in defeats, but they were showcasing the best in French Rugby League on the biggest stage in the northern hemisphere.
2025 is a new chapter as a disappointing 2024 saw McNamara and the club opt to recruit new players in key, playmaking positions. Luke Keary comes into the club in the same position as Maloney did in 2020 as the multiple NRL Grand Final winner joins up with Tomkins and exciting homegrown talent Arthur Mourgue in the halves.
Other improvements around the field includes two new wingers Tommy Makinson and Nick Cotric, and forwards Tevita Pangai Jr, Oli Partington and returning hero Elliott Whitehead as the club freshened up their team for the upcoming campaign.
Round Three Review
The Dragons' winless run continued at the Leigh Sport Village last time out as the Dragons went down 34-6 at the hands of Adrian Lam's side. Alrix Da Costa scored the away side's sole try as they continued to look for their first win of the new campaign.
