New documentary celebrates life of legendary Leeds coach

BBC Radio Wales has produced a new radio documentary called 'Roy Francis Wales' black leader in a white world'.
Historian and biographer Tony Collins tells the story of Roy Francis, the first black man to coach a winning team at Wembley and the founder of modern rugby coaching methods.
Chronicling his rise from the fields of his hometown, to signing for Wigan as a 17-year-old in the 1930s, to becoming the first black player to play for the Great Britain Rugby League Lions in 1947 and first black coach of a professional sports club in Britain.
