Round four of the Betfred Super League sees the Rhinos take to the skies as they fly to Perpignan to take on Catalans Dragons at the Stade Gilbert Brutus on Saturday 8th March, kick off 5.30pm.

Opposition Overview

A revamp of the Catalans Dragons squad for 2025 saw Steve McNamara recruit a host of talent in the hope that the club can return to a third Grand Final in five years. 

After a four-game losing run towards the end of the 2024 season jeopardised the Dragons' Play Off hopes, the club moved to bring in the likes of four-time Grand Finalist Tommy Makinson, NRL Premiership champion Luke Keary, rising talent Oli Partington and Canberra Raiders pair Nick Cotric and Elliott Whitehead to change the squad around. Keary is the latest experienced NRL name to sign for the Dragons in the wake of James Maloney and Mitchell Pearce, whilst Partington's move from Salford and Tevita Pangai Jr's signing from the Dolphins gives the team a new dynamic for the year ahead.

Early signs show that the group was still adjusting to McNamara's system in a low-scoring win over Halifax in the Challenge Cup, before John Cartwright's Hull side toppled the home side in Perpignan to open the Super League season. Last week was a closer affair against Warrington which still ended in defeat, but their tough start continued on the road against Leigh last time out.

Their home clash with the Rhinos this weekend is a chance for Catalans to continue to build ahead of their fourth round of the Betfred Challenge Cup clash with Featherstone Rovers, before tests against Castleford, St Helens and Huddersfield await.
