Wigan name strong squad for Handley testimonial

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Matt Peat has named a strong side for this Sunday’s clash with Rhinos at AMT Headingley, kick off 3pm, in Ash Handley’s testimonial game.

The 26-man Wigan side includes 15 of the 17 players who featured at Old Trafford last October to complete the Quadruple with winger Abbas Miski and prop Ethan Harvard the only two to miss out.

The Wigan squad includes a number of Handley’s former Rhinos team mates with Kruise Leeming, Tyler Dupree and Sam Walters all included whilst inaugural Rob Burrow Award winner, as man of the match in the Grand Final, Bevan French is also included.

England internationals Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Harry Smith, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba and Liam Farrell, who will skipper the Warriors, are all in the squad to face the Rhinos too.

The game will see Brad Arthur named his strongest available side as well and should create a great final contest ahead of the 2025 season kicking off.
