Leeds Rhinos Foundation celebrate 2024 Week of Social Impact

This week Leeds Rhinos Foundation, which is the official charity of Leeds Rhinos, has joined with different Rugby League Foundation's to celebrate the social impact of their work in their local communities.

At the first Test match between England and Samoa in Wigan, the RFL showcased a glimpse of what each Foundation is striving towards in their commitment to social impact, which reaches beyond the 80 minutes. Rugby League is far more than just a sport; it has an outstanding community that surrounds it.

Some of the work Leeds Rhinos Foundation has been proud to deliver over the last twelve months the Rhinos Talent Pathway programmes in Leeds and Oldham.  It has also worked closely with the RFL and Youth Endowment Fund to offer programmes across the city that use sport to engage young people in growth, confidence and self-management.  Plus its inclusivity projects to help make sport accessible for all in a safe environment have had a huge impact with a 64% increase in the number of participants involved across junior and LDRL and PDRL, a 16% increase in Wheelchair RL programmes, 11.7% increase in players taking part in Physical Disability Rugby League and a 14.7 increase in participants playing Learning Disability Rugby league.  The charity's Respect Campaign which has had support from the Leeds Rhinos players has also encouraged positive touchline behaviours to make our game enjoyable for all.

Leeds Rhinos Foundation have worked tirelessly toward its social impact goals and this week has put a spotlight on that work and the positive impact it is having on people's lives.

The inaugural Week of Impact has come following the announcement of the RFL Community Trust. The RFL Community Trust will be dedicated to furthering the sport’s social impact goals, working hand-in-hand with the Governing Body, ourselves and other Rugby League Charitable Foundations.
