New intake welcomed into Rhinos Scholarship

Leeds Rhinos held a special launch night to welcome new and returning players to the Women's Scholarship for their new season.  The night was hosted by club Directors, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Rob Oates.

Guest speakers included Laura Wilson, who alongside her role as assistant coach to the Women's Super League team is also head coach of the Scholarship, and Ellis Pascal who coaches on the Scholarship and is Team Manager for the Super League team.  The pair spoke about what the players can expect on the newly designed programme and the support they can get from the club and connections with Leeds Beckett University.

Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington welcomed the players to the club and Sporting Director Ian Blease discussed how the Women's programme was evolving and ambitions for the future.  Finally, Leeds Rhinos Women's players Keara Bennett and Caitlin Casey who came through the club's Academy talked about their own experiences.

Players from community clubs across Yorkshire including Oulton Raidettes, Drighlington, Dewsbury Moor, Knottingley Mustangs, Whetherby Bulldogs, Whinmoor Warriors, Shawcross Sharks, Batley Girls, Lock Lane and Birkinshaw Bulldogs.
