So far in 2024...

After starting the campaign with defeats to Hull KR and Warrington Wolves, Hull FC managed to halt London's fightback at the MKM Stadium in round three, thanks to a late try from Morgan Smith which secured a 28-24 win. But since then in the league, the black and whites have struggled to find a win. A tough string of fixtures saw Catalans, Hull KR, St Helens and Huddersfield take wins away from Hull - three out of four results seeing Hull's opponents score 50+ points - before a tight 18-12 loss to Leeds extended the losing streak to six games.

Trips to Warrington and the Broncos also ended in defeat for Grix's side and despite sparking a late comeback against the Tigers, a 30-10 deficit after 55 minutes was too tough for the black and whites to come back from at the Jungle as the game ended 30-22. Huddersfield also added a third win in all competitions against Hull to keep the side eleventh in the league standings.

Victory over Leeds on home soil in round 14 ended the side's wait for a win, and four games later they upset Wigan with a two-point victory at home once again. Now they arrive at AMT Headingley in their final away day of the year looking to break a six game losing streak, which included a 29-4 loss to London at Magic Weekend. Last time out, they were on the wrong end of a 39-20 defeat to Castleford too.

Ones to Watch

Logan Moy

Out of several young players brought through into the first team this year, full-back Logan Moy promises to be one to watch in the future.

Despite being only 19 years old, Moy has earned the trust of head coach Grix after some commendable performances, particularly a try-scoring display against Huddersfield at the end of May. Shortly after he was locked down on a three-year extension, and despite overall results, he has gone on to score two tries in games against Hull KR and Leigh Leopards.

Herman Ese'ese

Former Brisbane, Newcastle, Canterbury, Gold Coast and Dolphins forward Herman Ese'ese was one of a number of pre-season acquisitions for the black and whites and has made an impact on the squad in 21 Super League appearances this year.

No Hull player has more carries or total run metres than Ese’ese, plus only fellow forward Jordan Lane has made more tackles. His 50 offloads are the second-best in the competition behind London’s Hakim Miloudi, plus he is the leading forward in Super League for tackle breaks with 109.

Jordan Lane

An ever-present in Hull's lineup, Jordan Lane has stepped up to captain the side on occasions in 2024.

The back rower is the side's top tackler this year and ranks seventh in the league with three rounds to go, plus he is also one of the side's top performers when it comes to carries, metres and post contact metres.
