Next Up: London Broncos

Next up for the Rhinos, Leeds make their first trip to London in five years as they take on London Broncos at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in round 24 of the Betfred Super League season, kick off 3pm.

Here's a preview ahead of the fixture:

Our opposition

Although many had London down to finish bottom at the start of the season, Mike Eccles and his players have shifted expectations as the Broncos moved level on points with Hull FC after the two sides met at Magic Weekend.

The Broncos have proved to be the black and white's nemesis this season, starting in round three when a late try for Hull managed to save Tony Smith's side from defeat. Eight rounds later, London responded with their opening win of the campaign against the Airlie Birds as tries from Oli Leyland, Lee Kershaw, Jarred Bassett, Robbie Storey, James Meadows and Alex Walker helped take away a 34-18 victory and end an 11-game losing run, before the Broncos then posted a 29-4 win on Simon Grix's side at Elland Road in round 22.

London also pushed Leeds close in the most recent meeting between the clubs in round 16 at AMT Headingley; Brodie Croft stepped up to slot a drop goal to win the game 17-16 for the Rhinos. That came after the Rhinos put 46 points on the Broncos back in May as eight different players scored tries in a much-needed win.

Some of the Broncos' youngest talents have helped turn the club's form around in recent weeks, none more than full back Josh Rourke who is linked with a move away next year. Since scoring his debut try in the competition against Leeds, he since scored six tries in his last seven matches, including two at Magic Weekend, and is closely behind another talent in Oliver Leyland in try involvements.

Captain Will Lovell steers the ship from the forward pack and has more tackles than any London player this campaign. The highly experienced Rhys Kennedy is also a force in a relatively young group.

Last time out against London (Away)

2019 was the last season that the Rhinos headed down to London as they brought a 36-10 result away from Ealing Trailfinders Stadium.
