Ahead of Leeds Rhinos and Wigan going head to head on Saturday afternoon, we've gone into the archives to pull out a clash for the ages between the two clubs, and a player that represented both the Warriors and Rhinos during their careers.

Classic Clash

2005's meeting between the two clubs might have been one to forget for the Warriors, but a 70-0 triumph for the Rhinos had their fans celebrating long into the night.

Having only suffered only two league defeats up until that point in the season, the Rhinos recorded 70 points for a second successive week after beating Wakefield 70-6 on the road the week before. Rob Burrow, Chev Walker, Barrie McDermott, Mark Calderwood and Danny McGuire all scored two tries each as part of a larger 13 try haul for the Rhinos as Tony Smith's side stayed top of the league table.

Played for both - Mark Calderwood

Winger Mark Calderwood was one of the club's top wingers during the early 2000s as he helped the club to Grand Final and World Club glory. By the time Leeds won their inaugural Super League Grand Final in 2004, Calderwood had scored sixty tries in over 70 matches and in his final year at the club, the winger finished as top try scorer, scoring 35 tries in 35 matches.

He left the club in 2006, crossing the Pennines to join Wigan Warriors on a two year contract. During his time at the club, he scored 32 tries in 72 games.

Support the Rhinos as they take on Wigan!

Fans get two games for the price of one this Saturday as Leeds and Wigan's first teams and Reserves are in action at AMT Headingley, starting with the Reserves at 12.30pm.

Ticket prices start at £25 for adults, £20 for concessions and £13 for juniors, with prices rising by £3 on matchdays.
