Earlier this month, Leeds Rhinos and Rhinos 4 Life partners NYCDA gave away £1000 to one lucky fan through the Rhinos 4 Life Weekly Prize Draw.

This week's lucky winner is Hilary Smith from Cookridge, who received a visit from the NYCDA team to share the good news that she was the latest jackpot winner. 

Hilary was proudly sporting her 2024 replica MND shirt when she was presented with her check for £1000, and she spoke about how far back her love of the club went. Her love affair with the club began when she was first taken to watch the club by her dad, who had his passion ignited by Hilary’s grandparents who owned a fruit and vegetable shop on Newport View in the shadows of Headingley Stadium. Along with her brother Andrew, the family often sat in the old paddock in the North Stand to cheer on the Rhinos.

Along with her husband Alan, Hilary used to attend matches over the years alongside their daughters. Fond of the old Wembley, she enjoyed the famous 1999 Challenge Cup Final win, where Leroy Rivett scored a record five tries against London Broncos.  One of her best memories was the 2015 treble season, where she travelled to many of the big games over. Unfortunately, the family lost Alan in 2017; however, that family are committed South Standers to this day, and follow the club both home and away.
