So far in 2024...
Paul Rowley has steered Salford Red Devils in the direction of the Play Offs once again, despite starting the season without a number of key bodies.
With Cade Cust named as Brodie Croft's successor and Amir Bourouh coming in to fill the number nine shirt in place of Andy Ackers, the Red Devils could be forgiven for a slow start as they lost out to the hands of the Rhinos in round one. For most of the season though, Marc Sneyd, Ryan Brierley and Nene Macdonald have run the show as Salford have risen to battle at the top end of the table in the hopes of making the Play Offs.
Wins against Castleford, Hull KR and St Helens after the loss to Leeds turned Rowley's season around as they came into form between rounds six and 16. Salford only lost three times during the ten match spell, whilst also taking away big scalps of Warrington twice, St Helens and Hull FC in a hard fought 22-20 result.
Although they suffered back to back away defeats to Catalans and Huddersfield, they were back on form against Castleford last time out as they begin to defend their place in the top six from the challenge of St Helens, Leeds and Leigh.

With eight games to go, the Red Devils' next three games come against the Rhinos, Saints and Leopards before a final race sees them take on Huddersfield, Hull KR, Hull FC and Catalans before closing the year with a tough ask against Wigan at The Brick Community Stadium.
Squad

Ones to Watch
Nene Macdonald
As he prepares to take on his former club for the second time this season, PNG international Macdonald has had a stellar year for the Red Devils.
Although he has missed a handful of games, Macdonald is one of Salford's main threats going forward as he's second behind Deon Cross in the try scoring charts and is the side's leading ball carrier, metre maker, post contact metre maker and offloader. Compared to the rest of the league, his number of metres is only second to Warrington's Matt Dufty, plus he ranks fourth in offloads behind Castleford's El-Zakhem, London's Miloudi and Hull FC's Ese'ese.

Marc Sneyd

A savvy piece of recruitment to bring Marc Sneyd back to Salford in 2022 after nine years away has proved invaluable to the Red Devils club.
So far this year, Sneyd hasn't missed a beat with ball in hand or on the kicking tee. His 18 try assists are the joint-most in Super League (alongside Hull KR's Mikey Lewis), plus he has the most try involvements amongst his Red Devils team mates. His goal kicking starts are one of the best in the competition too as he has 62 conversions from 71 attempts and has three field goals versus Hull KR in round three, and Warrington in rounds nine and 14.
