Wolves next up for Rhinos Women this weekend

After defeat to St Helens last time out at AMT Headingley, Leeds Rhinos Women head on the road for the first of three consecutive away matches as they face Warrington Wolves at Victoria Park this Sunday, kick off 12pm.

Now in a race for League Leaders' Shield, Lois Forsell's side look to get back to winning ways against the Wolves, who have lost every league encounter to Leeds since they entered Super League in 2021. Armani Sharrock's Wolves side are also coming into this week's game off the back of a loss and know a win keeps them clear of Huddersfield chasing behind them.

Warrington Wolves come into this weekend's clash with the Rhinos four points off the top four as they lead the chasing pack in fifth place. Armani Sharrock's side are having their best season in Group One of the Betfred Women's Super League, after

After suffering defeat to the Rhinos in the quarter final stage of the Betfred Challenge Cup, the two sides met again at AMT Headingley in the league. Despite claiming a 34-28 result in their opening game against Featherstone, the Wolves went down to the home side in a 68-0 final score; Izzy Northrop scoring a hat trick to lead the Leeds scorers.

Sharrock's side bounced back though at the start of May in a low-scoring 10-6 win over Barrow, and despite defeats to top four contenders Wigan and York, they recorded a second win over Featherstone Rovers thanks to tries from Grace Burnett, Emily Baggaley and Sammi Simpson. Last time out against Huddersfield, the Wolves fell to a 32-10 loss that means they are only two points ahead of the Giants in the league standings.

A tough spell of fixtures for the Wolves sees them take on the Rhinos, St Helens and York Valkyrie in the next three weeks, before the start of August sees them travel to Barrow. Wigan, Saints and a rematch with Huddersfield also await in the final rounds too.
