Rhinos Rewind: London Broncos

Ahead of Leeds Rhinos and London going head to head on Saturday afternoon, we've gone into the archives to pull out a clash for the ages between the two clubs, and a player that represented both the Broncos and Rhinos during their careers.

Take a look...

Classic Clash

New signing Marcus Bai announced his arrival at Leeds Rhinos with an impressive debut against London Broncos at Headingley in 2004 as Tony Smith got his reign as Head Coach off to a winning start.

Played for both - Ben Jones-Bishop

Ben Jones-Bishop came through the Academy system at the Rhinos and went on to lift the Super League and World Club Challenge trophies in 2012 under Brian McDermott.

Debuting in Leeds’ 2008 Challenge Cup win over Crusaders, the winger followed his first outing with a try in the fifth round against Harlequins. He later went out on loan to London in 2010, and scored 11 tries in 17 games in a productive spell.

Back at the Rhinos in 2011 he had a breakout year, featuring 19 times and scoring twelve tries. He was a try scorer in the Challenge Cup final defeat to Wigan and finally claimed a winner’s medal at the end of the season as he was part of the Rhinos team that beat St Helens in the Grand Final.

2012 was another milestone season for Jones-Bishop. Starting the season with a try in the World Club Challenge win over Manly Sea Eagles, the winger went on to play in all of Leeds’ Challenge Cup matches, including the final, and the Grand Final, where he was a try scorer again. Injury prevented his gametime in 2013 and 2014, before he announced he was leaving the club to join Salford for the 2015 season.
