Four new inductees into Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame

Four new inductees to the Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame were unveiled at the club's annual Hall of Fame lunch on Sunday at AMT Headingley.
Over 300 guests were in the Howard Suite at AMT Headingley to witness the induction of the 2024 Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame members.
The event is always one of the highlights of the year at AMT Headingley as we gather together to induct the next four members of the Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame. It is a must-be-at event for any Rhinos fan, young and old, as legends of the club's history come together on an afternoon of celebration.
The event also paid tribute to legends Rob Burrow and Lewis Jones, who have passed away this year, and were both members of the Hall of Fame. To mark the 20th and 10th anniversary of the 2004 Grand Final and 2014 Challenge Cup Final wins, members of both squads were present with them sharing their memories of those Finals.
The 29th inductee was a player from the formation of the club back in 1890, Tommy Summersgill. He played for the club prior to the split in 1895 with the Northern Union and then had a successful career in the new sport before becoming and integral member of the committee in those early years.
1954 World Cup winner Gordon Brown was the next to be inducted. Now 94, Gordon travelled up from his home in the Midlands to be at AMT Headingley and had the entire room captivated with his stories from his playing days, which he vividly recalled.
1977 Lance Todd Trophy winner, Steve Pitchford became the 31st member of the Hall of Fame when he was inducted by his great friend and former team mate David Ward.
Finally, Ali Lauitiiti completed the afternoon after flying in from New Zealand to become the 32nd member of the Hall of Fame. Lauitiiti joined the Rhinos midway through the 2004 season and went on to play 200 games for the Rhinos, his final game coming with another victory at Old Trafford in 2011.
