Rhinos Rewind: Leigh Leopards

Ahead of Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards going head to head on Saturday at AMT Headingley, we've gone into the archives to pull out a clash for the ages between the two clubs, and a player that represented both the Leigh and Rhinos during their careers.
Take a look...
Classic Clash
With only four Super League meetings at AMT Headingley on record between Leeds and Leigh, one of the Rhinos' top performances came in 2021 off the back of the Covid pandemic.
Having beaten Castleford and Salford away from home, the Rhinos came back to Headingley and put nine tries passed the newly promoted Leopards; four tries coming from young outside back Jack Broadbent.
Played for both - Darren Fleary
A player who donned the colours of both clubs during his career was forward Darren Fleary, who was part of an intimidating forward pack for Leeds in the 90s.
Under head coach Graham Murray, Fleary featured in Super League's inaugural Grand Final in 1998, which was lost to Wigan, but 1999 saw him lift his first silverware as he was part of the Rhinos' Challenge Cup winning squad against London.
After finishing his Leeds career in 2002, Fleary arrived at Leigh after playing the 2004 season with his hometown club Huddersfield. During the 2005 season, the back rower started all 27 games he played for Leigh, scoring two tries, before retiring at the end of the season.
