Next Up: Hull FC

For the second time in 2024, Leeds Rhinos head to the MKM Stadium to take on Hull FC in round fourteen of the Betfred Super League, kick off 3pm.

Rohan Smith's side edged an 18-12 win at the end of April, thanks to two tries from Riley Lumb on debut, and enter this week's contest after a win against Castleford on home soil, whilst Hull FC look to bring an end to their losing run which extends back to round four.

Here's a preview ahead of the fixture:

Our opposition

Hull FC have a new coach locked in for 2025 in the shape of Brisbane Bronco John Cartwright, but in the more immediate future, the club looks to bring an eleven-match losing streak to an end against the Rhinos on Saturday.

With one win in all competitions, Hull suffered defeats to Hull KR in the opening game of the year on home turf and Warrington, but a comeback win against London saw Morgan Smith score the winning try to take victory away from the Broncos. A run of four losses proved to be Tony Smith's last games in charge of the side as Leigh and Hull KR took points off the black and whites in rounds five and six, as well as Huddersfield who tallied up 106 points in a 50-6 win in the Challenge Cup and 56-22 result in Super League.

Simon Grix and Francis Cumins took over on an interim basis for losses to St Helens and the Rhinos at the end of April, and despite squad investment that brought Tom Briscoe back to his former club along with Ed Chamberlain (who has since been recalled by Leigh), Ben Reynolds, Tiaki Chan and Yusuf Aydin, the club remains without a win. Warrington, London and Castleford all added losses to the black and whites' record during last month, and last Friday saw Huddersfield win 24-18; Logan Moy, Cameron Scott and Herman Ese'ese scoring for Hull.
