Loan watch: Trio help Halifax end losing run

Away from the Betfred Super League action, last Sunday saw Rhinos trio Corey Johnson, Ned McCormack and Leon Ruan get minutes on the field as they helped Halifax Panthers to victory against Doncaster at The Shay.
Johnson spent his second week on dual registration with the Panthers, after featuring against York earlier in May, whilst Ruan pulled on a Halifax shirt for the first time having previously played in the Championship with Doncaster towards the end of March. McCormack, who has been one of the Reserve's top performers in 2024, wowed in his first outing for the club too.
The Leeds youngsters quickly jumped into life as a break by Johnson set up Joe Keyes to score, plus the hooker also played a role in Gareth Widdop's try too. Overall he finished the game with 16 carries, 29 tackles, 1 line break, 4 tackle breaks, 1 try assist and 2 trysavers.
One of the plays of the game saw Ned McCormack mark his first minutes in the Championship with a try-of-the-season contender; the centre outstripping Luke Briscoe to score in the second half. In total, he made 13 carries, 20 tackles, 2 line breaks, 1 try saver and 5 tackle breaks.
Leon Ruan also added 9 carries and 13 tackles in a good afternoon all round for the Panthers.
