Next Up: Double header at AMT Headingley

Next up, both Leeds Rhinos Men's and Women's sides are both in action at AMT Headingley Stadium as a double header of action sees Rohan Smith's side take on Castleford Tigers (KO 5.30pm) and Lois Forsell's side clash with Barrow Raiders (2.45pm).

Here's a preview ahead of the fixture:

Our opposition

In the latest episode of their battle with West Yorkshire rivals Leeds, Castleford Tigers arrive at AMT Headingley without a win in their last two meetings with the Rhinos on the road.

Last year saw Leeds score eight tries in a blistering 46-0 win against the Tigers, who fought a season-long battle with neighbouring Wakefield at the foot of the table. A similar start to Craig Lingard's tenure at Wheldon Road this time around saw Cas lose six games to start the league season, before they managed to overcome Salford in a 36-24 outing at the Jungle. One of those losses came against Leeds who put in a strong second half, thanks to tries from Lachie Miller and Paul Momirovski in a 26-6 result, to get their first win on the road against the Tigers since 2021.

Back-to-back losses to Wigan and the Super League and Challenge Cup for Lingard's side set up a tense fixture with London in round nine, but 30 points in the first half from the side in black and amber all-but ended the contest in a convincing performance to see them move four points clear of the bottom. A thrilling 28-all matchup with Leigh at the Leigh Sports Village saw the sides share the league points, before St Helens claimed a 60-4 scalp in round 11.

The Tigers come into this week's challenge after beating Hull FC last time out. It begins a tough run of fixtures for the Fords as they face play off contenders Wigan, Hull KR and St Helens through June and July.

In the Women's game, Barrow Raiders Ladies take on the Rhinos for the first time ever in any competition, having been promoted from Group 2 of the Betfred Women's Super League last year.

2023 saw the side battle the season out with Featherstone at the top of the league table, before the Raiders beat Leigh Leopards in the Grand Final in October. Now headed up by former Wigan coach Amanda Wilkinson, who led the Warriors to a Grand Final win against Leeds in 2018, Barrow have endured a tough start to life in the top division as they've suffered losses to Wigan, York and Warrington. Their sole win of the Challenge Cup group stages saw them run 46 points passed Salford Red Devils, and last weekend saw the Raiders defeat Featherstone to get their first Super League win.
