Rhinos legend Lauitiiti heads back to Leeds for twenty year reunion

Legendary New Zealand forward Ali Lauiti’iti will be one of the guests of honour at the annual Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame lunch when it takes place on Sunday 23^rd June at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium.  

The event is one of the highlights of the year and will see the next four players inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame. It will be a particularly poignant occasion following the passing of Championship winning skipper Lews Jones, who was an original inductee into the Hall of Fame when it started in 2018. 

Lauiti’iti joined the Rhinos in 2004 from New Zealand Warriors, helping the team to Old Trafford glory with his incredible skills. He made 200 appearances for the club, his final game coming in the 2011 Grand Final, where once again he lifted the Super League trophy. 

The Kiwi international will be joining members of the 2004 Grand Final winning squad to celebrate the club’s first Super League title win, twenty years ago. The event also marks ten years since Leeds won the Challenge Cup at Wembley against Castleford Tigers plus members of the 1999 Challenge Cup winning squad will also be in attendance 25 years on from their historic day at the old Wembley Stadium. 

Tickets, which includes lunch, are available for £50 with the event taking place in the Howard Suite. This is a truly unique occasion for die hard Leeds fans with heroes from the last 50 years gathered together in one room including Hall of Fame members right up to the present Rhinos Super League squad.
