Leeds Rhinos Women sign young star Beth Macmillan

Leeds Rhinos Women have announced the signing of rising star Beth Macmillan from Bradford Bulls ahead of the 2024 Betfred Women's Super League season.

Macmillan started playing with Hunslet Warriors, before settling at South Leeds Spartans where she was scouted by Bradford Bulls.  She was initially part of their U19s side before her promotion to the first team where she soon earned a regular starting place at full back. Last season she was in outstanding form and picked up both Players' Player of the Year and Coaches' Player of the Year award.  Macmillan is a former pupil at Leeds City College where she was first coached by Lois Forsell in their Rugby League side.

Speaking about her move to the Rhinos, the Leeds Beckett student said: "It feels good to be joining the Rhinos and being part of a team where everybody has been so welcoming and you just feel like you are part of a big club.  Lois sees me joining the club as a building block and not just a one year thing, she wants me to progress and become a better player.  The girls are really eager to get some trophies this year and I just hope I can be part of that."

Leeds Rhinos Women's head coach Lois Forsell said: "I have known Beth for a number of years now, having first worked with her at Leeds City College. Beth came to our trials and impressed, she has been in training well and has fitted in to the group easily. Beth is a young player with a lot of potential and we are looking forward to working with her in our environment at the Rhinos. Beth, had a great season with the Bulls last year and we are looking forward to her been with us in 2024."
