International Watch: Six Rhinos in action this Saturday

Saturday afternoon sees six Leeds Rhinos men's and women's players take to the field at Headingley as part of an exciting double header that sees England Women take on Wales at 12pm, before the men close out their series with Tonga at 2.30pm.
Take a look at all of our Rhinos that are set to be in action:
Harry Newman
As the only Rhinos player included in Shaun Wane's England squad for the series against Tonga, centre Newman has had a strong series so far facing off against the Tongan pack.
In his first international series with England, Newman has proved an ideal centre partner for Tommy Makinson in the first test and Matty Ashton in the second. Along with setting up Ashton's try last weekend, he also came into his own in the second test as he posted the third-highest post-contact metres total as well as three tackle breaks and 15 carries on a wet occasion in Huddersfield. Having represented England through the junior ranks, Newman returns to Headingley where he played for England Academy against Australia Schoolboys and England Knights in 2019 against Jamaica.
At club level last year, Newman bounced back from injuries to make 16 appearances and added six tries in the process; his two scores against Wigan and Catalans proving highlights. His offload game also gained recognition as he finished as the competition's fourth highest offloader during the regular season (38).

Caitlin Beevers

Although she missed the win over France back in the spring, Caitlin Beevers put down a gauntlet during the domestic season to put herself back in contention for the international stage.
Saturday's game will be the second time that she has faced off against Wales, having scored a try in a 60-0 outing back in 2021. Although she missed the pre-World Cup clash against the Welsh in 2022, Beevers went on to play three times during the Cup campaign and scored tries against Brazil and PNG.
For the Rhinos, after battling back from injury at the beginning of the year, Beevers' highlight moment came on the biggest stage as she scored one of the great Wembley tries in the Challenge Cup Final defeat to St Helens. Her tries against Wigan in the Cup semi-final as well as the Saints in the Betfred Women's Super League semi-final proved crucial too as she finished the year with six tries in ten games and added a fifth Grand Final outing.
Keara Bennett

Coming into this weekend's international fixture off the back of one of her best seasons with the Rhinos, Keara Bennett is in a three-way fight for the number nine shirt this weekend.
Following last week's squad announcement, Bennett is named alongside St Helens' Tara Jones and York's Sinead Peach by head coach Stu Barrow for one of the most hotly contested positions in the starting 13. Jones started most of the World Cup fixtures last year, with Bennett used as a substitute, and the rise of Valkyries captain Peach over the last two years has put her back in contention to pull on the England colours.
Bennett on the other hand has been involved with the England setup since her debut Leeds season in 2019 and started for the first time in a 54-4 win over Canada at the World Cup. Earlier this year, she was given the nod to start in the 64-0 win over France at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, before going on to finish the year at the Rhinos as a Woman of Steel candidate.
Amy Hardcastle

Alongside Bennett, Amy Hardcastle featured in the win over France back in April and was one of nine different try scorers.
Coming into this weekend's international, Hardcastle is one of the most experienced England players with 12 caps. Only her former St Helens teammate Emily Rudge has worn the England colours more (14), but Hardcastle's try tally puts her at the top of the tree for career England tries with 12. She can also extend her recent try scoring run for her country at Headingley as she has nine tries in her last six England appearances, including seven during the World Cup, and she will be aiming to cross the try line again on her home ground.
Focusing on her debut season at Leeds, the centre has been a part of some of the club's biggest moments, including walking out at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final in August. As expected, she has brought the tries too with 15 in all competitions; seven tries came in matches against Warrington. Her try tally is also the third-most scored by a Rhinos player in a single season since the team entered the Super League competition in 2018 (only Fran Goldthorp's 20 tries in 2021 and Courtney Winfield-Hill's 19 tries in 2019 rank higher than Hardcastle's tally).
Bethan Dainton
Saturday sees forward Bethan Dainton lead Wales Women for the second time, having only made her debut a year ago.
Dainton became the fourth player in the Wales team to make the switch from Rugby Union, where she also earned international honours, to Rugby League when she came off the bench against England in 2022. A year later, she pulled on the captain's armband for the first time in defeat to France, but they will be aiming to put up a fight against England on Saturday afternoon.
Signing for the Rhinos at the start of 2023 from The Army, a stellar season unfolded for Dainton as she played 14 out of 17 games in all competitions for head coach Lois Forsell, plus she was part of the starting 13 in the Challenge Cup Final and Grand Final.
Zoe Hornby

As a player who has continued to grow and thrive under Forsell at the Rhinos, forward Zoe Hornby could be back in an England shirt on Saturday for only the second time in her career.
Last year, she made the 24-player shortlist for England's World Cup squad and made her international debut against Canada in a convincing win at Wigan's DW Stadium. Although an injury in the opening round of the Betfred Women's Super League ruled her out of the France test earlier this year, the forward fought back to be one of the Rhinos' top forwards towards the end of the season and subsequently a part of head coach Barrow's squad for this weekend.
Seven tries in five games from July to September saw Hornby help revive the Rhinos' season as the club reached the Challenge Cup Final and Grand Final. Utilised in the front row, her two tries against St Helens and Wigan in the final games of the season built momentum for Leeds to defeat Saints again in the semi-final and progress into a fifth consecutive Grand Final.
