International rugby league returns to AMT Headingley next Saturday

Next weekend will be a historic one for the city of Leeds as England's men, women and wheelchair teams are all in Test match action in the city for the first time ever.

It will be a particularly special day next Saturday at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium as the national mens team returns to Headingley for the first time since 2007 when Great Britain played France.

International rugby at AMT Headingley actually dates back to before the creation of the Northern Union in 1895. Leeds also hosted the twelfth Calcutta Cup between England and Scotland in 1893 with the visitors winning two drop goals to nil in front of over 30,000. This was 16 years before the RFU opened Twickenham, which became England Rugby Union's permanent home.

Make sure you are at AMT Headingley to see all the action at Headingley next Saturday as England Women take on Wales before the men face Tonga in the first Test. All seats are now sold out but there are terraces tickets available on all sides. Book now by clicking here
