Four new inductees revealed for Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame

Over 300 guests were in the Howard Suite at Headingley to witness the induction of the 2023 Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame members.

The event is always one of the highlights of the year at Headingley as we gather together to induct the next four members of the Leeds Rugby League Hall of Fame. It is a must-be-at event for any Rhinos fan, young and old, as legends of the club's history come together on an afternoon of celebration.

Legendary Welsh centre Jim Bacon, who joined the club in 1918 from Cross Keys was the first inductee. With the club unable to trace any surviving family members, the award was accepted by Hall of Fame member Garry Schofield.

Next was scrum half Barry Seabourne, who is still the club's youngest ever debutant. He made his debut in 1963 and was a member of the 1968 Challenge Cup and 1969 Championship winning team as well as captaining the club during his career. He was presented with his award by his childhood mate Syd Hynes, who had flown in from his home in Perth, Australia, to be at the event.

The third 2023 inductee was another scrum half, Kevin Dick. The Great Britain international was a key member of the Leeds team from the late 1970s and early 1980s. He featured in the 1977 Challenge Cup Final, where he narrowly missed out on the Lance Todd trophy, and the 1978 win at Wembley as well as winning the Harry Sunderland Award as man of the match in the 1979 Premiership win over Bradford.

He was presented with his award by the brother of John Holmes, Phil Holmes, his former captain David Ward and his old coach Syd Hynes.

The final 2023 inductee was legendary centre Keith Senior. Senior joined the Rhinos on the final day of the 1999 regular season and went on to enjoy a glittering Headingley career winning four Grand Finals between 2004 and 2009. The Great Britain international was presented with his award by his old team mate and fellow Hall of Fame member Barrie McDermott.
