2023 so far...
Andy Last's Castleford side prepare to take on their local rivals at Magic Weekend as they look to claim their first win since the start of April.
It's been a tough season so far for the Tigers, who struggled to score points after losing out to Hull FC in a thrilling opening fixture at the MKM Stadium. Up until taking on Leeds in round five, the black and ambers had only scored twelve points in three matches against Saints, Huddersfield and Wigan, before they defeated Rohan Smith's side on home soil.
Wakefield are the only other club that Castleford have claimed league points from this season (a 16-4 performance in rivals round), but since then they have been without a win in their last five. This week they head north to Newcastle, where the Fords have previously been successful against the Rhinos at the Magic Weekend. They are also looking to avenge last year's 34-20 defeat that saw the Rhinos boost themselves into the play offs.
