Sinfield and Burrow give Doddie shirt seal of approval

Leeds Rhinos legends Kevin Sinfield OBE and Rob Burrow MBE have given their seal of approval to the new look Magic Weekend shirt that pays tribute to MND Champion Doddie Weir. Leeds will play in the shirt at Newcastle's St James' Park on Saturday 3rd June in the city where Weir won a Rugby Union Premiership with Newcastle Falcons.

To help continue Doddie’s legacy and to show our appreciation for the support he gave Rob Burrow, £10 from the sale of every replica shirt will be donated to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. 

The shirt design incorporates the distinctive Doddie Weir tartan and features the former British and Irish Lions details on the inside collar along with a quote from Rob Burrow on the reverse of the collar saying ‘Thanks for showing us the way’. Along both sleeves is a quote from Doddie that reads, ‘Whatever your situation, make the most you can of each and every day. Be nice to people, and laugh as much as possible.’ 

To maximise the impact of the tartan, the club’s major partners have kindly agreed for this shirt to have monotone logos and the Rhinos would like to thank them all for their support in making this distinctive shirt design possible. The white shorts also feature the tartan design on side panels. 

The replica kit is available to buy online, adult shirts are sized S to 6XL with Ladies shirts available in sizes 8-18, with prices for both frozen at £49.99 for the third season running. Junior shirts are £39.99 in sizes age 6 to 14 with toddler kits, age 0 to 4, priced at £39.99. Leeds Rhinos play local rivals Castleford Tigers at the Magic Weekend on Saturday 3rd June, kick off 6pm at St James’ Park, Newcastle. The game concludes the first day of a weekend of Betfred Super League action in the North East with three games on each day as the Rugby League family comes together for the annual celebration of the sport with all six games at one venue.
