- Donaldson has continued his game time with Bradford away from Leeds but could make his first appearance since the drop goal win over Saints this week.
- Aidan Sezer and Luis Roberts drop out of the side from the defeat at Leigh. David Fusitu'a, Max Simpson and Derrell Olpherts are also still recovering from injury.
- Richie Myler is the only player in Leeds' 21 squad to have previously played for Salford. The full back made 53 appearances for the club between 2007 and 2008.
- Fresh from England duty, Ash Handley can continue a scoring streak against the Red Devils. The winger has tries in his last three games against Salford, including a length of the field effort last season.
Red Devils 21-man squad
- Alex Gerrard is a returning name for Paul Rowley ahead of Friday's fixture as Salford look to continue their winning run in Super League.
- Four former Rhinos players are also included in the team. Tyler Dupree made his England debut last weekend and could line up in the middles, along with King Vuniyayawa and Jack Ormondroyd. Kallum Watkins won six domestic titles with the Rhinos too.
- Half back Marc Sneyd has scored points in his last 20 games against Leeds (17 for Hull FC, three for the Red Devils). His scoring streak began with three goals for Hull FC in a 36-22 Super 8s home defeat on 21 August 2015.
- Reigning Man of Steel Brodie Croft also returns to Headingley as one of the Red Devils' key danger players. The half back has been ever-present for the Red Devils this season.
