Leeds Rhinos are participating in a UK Government Department for Transport and Innovate UK national partnership project which has been introduced to test innovative ways to encourage and enable fans to travel on match days in a more sustainable way and in doing so build on a great fan experience.
The partnership, which includes You. Smart. Thing. , In the Round, Northern Trains, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Leeds City Council and others, will see fans encouraged to use the new Leeds Rhinos Travel Assistant tool to plan their journeys to a series of forthcoming match days and events. Fans will also be invited to complete a survey aimed at understanding more about their experiences of travelling to and from Headingley Stadium.
The project will be used to understand how fans plan to travel to/from a series of events over the coming weeks and to consider how different types of transport could be operated in the future to the benefit of those going to and from matches at Headingley. The project will run until March 2023 however fans will be encouraged to continue to use the Travel Assistant for the whole of the 2023 Season.
