Last Time Out
Salford Red Devils claimed a major scalp in round 21 of the Betfred Super League as Paul Rowley’s side consigned league leaders St Helens to their largest defeat in the league since 2004.
An electric first half saw the Red Devils stroll into a 26-0 lead, thanks to tries from Sitaleki Akauola, Dan Sarginson, Kallum Watkins and two from Joe Burgess. Although Alex Walmsley and Jack Welsby got tries back for the visitors in the second period, the Red Devils sealed a 44-12 victory with further scores from Deon Cross, Greg Burke, Brodie Croft and Watkins.
Last Game vs Leeds
It was a tough start for Rohan Smith’s tenure at Leeds Rhinos as his side was beaten 23-8 by Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Following on from a break for the Challenge Cup Final, the Rhinos returned to the AJ Bell for the second time in 2022, having lost 26-12 in round six. A tough start saw Leeds fall ten points behind before Ash Handley scored in the corner to bring the visitors back to within six points. The home side refused to lie down though and recorded a further 13 points during the second half to all but seal the win, despite Mikolaj Oledzki’s late effort.
