Newman banned extended by RFL Disciplinary
Leeds Rhinos centre Harry Newman will miss the Rhinos games against Hull FC, Castleford and Toulouse after being handed a three game suspension by the RFL Disciplinary.
Newman had been given a Grade C charge after he was adjudged to have aggressive behaviour towards a referee in the Rhinos defeat at St Helens on Thursday, which carried a two game ban. No action was taken during the game by the official. The charge was a result of the review of footage by the Match Review Panel on Monday. Newman was joined by Head Coach Rohan Smith for his appeal and pleaded Not Guilty but the panel judged the challenge was frivolous and added an extra match to his suspension.
Leeds Rhinos forward Zane Tetevano, who was shown a red card for a challenge on Konrad Hurrell, was given a five game suspension by the RFL Disciplinary for a Grade D charge, Grade D suspensions range from 3 to 5 games.
