Rhinos Reserves host Red Devils at Stanningley this week
The games keep coming thick and fast for Leeds Rhinos’ development squads as the Rhinos Reserves take on Salford Red Devils Reserves at Stanningley on Friday night, kick off 7pm.
Friday’s clash with Salford will be a new test for Chev Walker’s Reserves side, after they had a three match winning streak broken by Warrington last time out at Headingley. As the season reaches it’s halfway point, Leeds had built some good form, thanks to entertaining wins over Hull KR and Castleford Tigers, and they will be out to show their stripes once again against the Red Devils.
This week’s opponents Salford Red Devils are one of the newest clubs in the Reserves league this year but Stuart Wilkinson’s side have had a rough season so far.
The Red Devils sit eleventh in the league table with two draws and no wins from the seven games they’ve played so far. Following defeats to Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity in their opening two matches, Salford could only come away from London with a 30-30 draw in a tight affair. After another defeat, to Huddersfield this time, Wilkinson’s side managed to secure their second point of the campaign with a home draw against Castleford. Prior to Friday’s meeting with Leeds though, the Red Devils suffered large defeats at the hands of St Helens and Bradford.
