Tigers next up for Rhinos Reserves this Saturday
Leeds Rhinos vs Hull KR at Stanningley RLFC in Leeds.
Leeds Rhinos Reserves are back in action this Saturday as Chev Walker’s side travel to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle to take on Castleford Tigers, kick off 2:30pm.
The Rhinos were given the win in their most recent match after Wakefield Trinity were forced to cancel the fixture. It gave Leeds their third win of the 2022 season and puts Walker’s side in sixth place in the Reserves league table.
Wins against Bradford and Hull KR sandwiched back to back defeats against St Helens and Wigan Warriors, with the Robins clash coming down to the wire as the Rhinos managed to hang on to a 36-32 win, Sam Davis and Mackenzie Turner leading the try scoring with two tries apiece for the home side.
It is the second time in eight days that a Rhinos side has faced Castleford. The Under-18s fought to claim a hard earned 22-18 result against the Tigers last Friday at Stanningley. Watch the full match below.
Castleford have played a game more than Leeds in 2022 and sit in sixth in the league table with two wins, two losses and a draw. The Tigers began the season with a convincing win over Newcastle Thunder at Kingston Park before Warrington Wolves ran out 68-6 winners at the start of March – Castleford hooker Taylor Baddeley scoring their sole try of the game.
Chris Spurr’s side got back to winning ways with a 32-24 win over Huddersfield at the end of the month, but in their two most recent matches, the black and amber have lost out to Hull FC, thanks to late try from Lewis Martin, and drew 34-34 with Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell a fortnight ago.
