Youngsters Simpson and Sinfield called up to Rhinos squad

Leeds Rhinos vs Hull KR at Stanningley RLFC in Leeds.
Leeds Rhinos interim Head Coach Jamie Jones-Buchanan has named his 21 man squad for the Bank Holiday Monday trip to face Castleford Tigers in the Betfred Super League, kick off 3pm, live on Sky Sports.
Full back Jack Walker is ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury in the 20-20 draw with Huddersfield Giants on Thursday. Winger Liam Tindall has also been ruled out by a hip injury.
In addition to Walker, the Rhinos are also still without David Fusitu’a (knee), Harry Newman (hamstring), Aidan Sezer (groin), Richie Myler (groin), Tom Holroyd (ankle) and Corey Johnson (knee).
Jamie Jones-Buchanan has called up the 17-year-old pair of Max Simpson and Jack Sinfield. Simpson has been involved in the 21 man squad on a number of occasions already this season. Former Kippax junior Simpson was elevated to the first team squad at the start of 2022 having agreed his first senior contract.
Goal kicker Sinfield joined the Rhinos from Saddleworth Rangers and is in his debut season in the first team squad having completed his first pre-season squad. Both players were part of the Rhinos U18s side that defeated Wigan Warriors on Thursday evening with Sinfield kicking the winning drop goal in the 23-22 win. Sinfield is the son of former Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield and wears the same squad number, 32, as his father in his debut season.
