The Rhinos face Saracens Mavericks in their Round 9 Vitality Netball Superleague fixture this Saturday 19th March, at the Hertfordshire Sports Village, FCP 4pm.

Last season the Rhinos played Mavericks in their second fixture of the season, which may well be remembered for the Rhinos bad luck in the game with Donnell Wallam breaking her arm and Tuaine Keenan and Fi Toner also picking up injuries. The match ended with a 43-39 victory for Saracens. In the second game though the Rhinos produced one of their best performances of the season to earn a 63-48 win and keep them in the mix for a top four finish.

About Saracens

Based in Hertfordshire, Saracens Mavericks have reached the Grand Final seven times which is only matched by one other side. Out of the seven Grand Final appearances, Mavericks won their two titles in 2008 and 2011. One of the founding members of the league, they have played featured in every Superleague season.

Mavericks have a squad with plenty of Superleague and international experience, with the likes of Kadeen and Sasha Corbin and Gabby Marshall and Razia Quashie all in their 2022 squad along with South African international Ine-Mari Venter. Saracens though could be without top goal scorer Venter though after she came off in Round 7 with a tweak to her calf in her team’s win against Strathclyde Sirens and did not feature against Surrey Storm.

Current form

Both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways after both lost their last fixtures. Mavericks have been in impressive form this season though, winning five of their eight games. Leeds are yet to outscore their opponents in the second half of games, losing five of the seven
