Agar confirms Sinfield set to make first senior appearance on Boxing Day

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Richard Agar admitted he was delighted to get the green light for Sunday’s Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge against Wakefield on Boxing Day at Headingley, kick off 11.30am after the team passed the latest round of covid testing.

Agar has also revealed that 17-year-old Jack Sinfield will feature at some point for his first senior appearance. The young half back, who is Kevin Sinfield’s son, has elevated to the first team squad this close season and has impressed the coaching staff.

Seating tickets are still available for the Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge on Boxing Day morning, kick off 11.30am but fans are urged to purchase their ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Leeds Rhinos have announced that, in light of recent Government recommendations under their Plan B regulations, they will voluntarily reduce the capacity for Headingley Stadium for the clash against Wakefield Trinity to 9,999. 

All standing tickets have now sold out but there are limited seating tickets available in all areas of the stadium.

The remaining tickets for this match can be booked now at or by calling 0371 423 1315. Leeds Rhinos 2021 and 2022 Members can still access the member’s discount on their own ticket up until midnight on Christmas Day. This is subject to availability.

The concourse areas will be controlled so that there will be fewer than 500 spectators standing indoors at any time.  

There will be no requirement to show vaccination status or a recent negative test to enter the stadium. However, the club reminds all spectators are responsible for ensuring they and everyone in your party has read the below and if any of their party have experienced any of the Covid 19 symptoms within the given timeframe, then we ask that you DO NOT travel to our stadium on match day


The game will be available to fans at a cost of £4.95 if booked before midnight on Christmas Day, please be aware the price will rise to £10 on the day of the game, so fans are encouraged to purchase in advance of game day.

In order to purchase the game, you need to be logged into your Our League account on the website. You cannot purchase within the app. The full game replay will be available to anyone who has pre-ordered the game and fans who do not purchase before the game can also pay to watch the full match again after the final hooter for £4.95.
