Pathway players given chance to shine in Fast 5

Leeds Rhinos Netball have called up Under-21s stars Annie James and Amy Braithwaite to their Fast 5 squad who will compete in the tournament for the first time this Saturday 30th October at London’s Copper Box Arena.

Following injuries to Amy Clinton, Sigi Burger and Sienna Rushton, assistant coach Maggie Birkinshaw has been forced to make some late changes to her squad and has been able to give opportunities to two rising stars from the club’s Pathway.

Michelle Magee has also been brought into the 10 player squad and new signings Lydia Walker and Rebekah Airey will make their first appearance for the club. They will join Rhea Dixon, Sienna Rushton, Amelia Hall, Emily Hollingworth, Tuaine Keenan and Paige Kindred who all played in last year’s Vitality Netball Superleague Finals Weekend.

The tournament features 12-minute matches, an all-star 5-point line and a Golden Buzzer Power Play.  Across a five-hour session the eight teams will play in a double elimination format; two wins and the team will advance straight to the semi-finals, two losses will result in being knocked out of the tournament with teams winning one and losing one of their opening matches playing a deciding match for a place in the last four.

The squad in full is:

Amy Clinton
Sigi Burger
Rhea Dixon
Sienna Rushton
Amelia Hall
Emily Hollingworth
Lydia Walker
Rebekah Airey
Tuaine Keenan
Paige Kindred
