First Rhinos Netball Masterclasses huge success
Over 25 netballers enjoyed the first ever Leeds Rhinos Netball Adult Masterclass sessions this week at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley.
The Masterclasses were led by Rhinos Netball player Paige Kindred with expertise offered from team mate Rhea Dixon for the Shooting session. While new Rhinos Netball signing Bekah Airey was joined by Rhinos Netball community coach Tiger Romaine to take the juniors in their session which included ball handling and fun games.
On Monday Paige and Rhea gave the group of various ages and experiences a bespoke technical session that included breaking down the shooting technique, different ways to get free in the circle and how to feed shooters, with individualised feedback and coaching points as well as a question and answer session to finish.
Speaking about the session Dixon said: “It was amazing to be part of another first for Leeds Rhinos Netball. It was great to be able to meet and coach some of our fans and fellow representatives within netball in Yorkshire. The ladies were eager to learn and took all coaching points on board. We loved seeing them have so much fun while improving their shooting, movement and confidence from start to finish”
On Thursday, Bekah will join up with Paige and bring her defensive knowledge from her years playing all three defensive positions within successful Superleague teams. There will also be a session for juniors aged between 5 and 12 led by Rhea for those who are keen to bring their little ones along.
