Winner takes all in massive Rhinos v Hull KR clash next Friday
Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR will meet in a ‘winner takes all’ clash at Emerald Headingley on Friday night, kick off 7.45pm, live on Sky Sports.
The Robins set up the huge clash with victory over Castleford Tigers at home on Saturday night.
Betfred Super League Round 25 will kick off with Castleford Tigers hosting Warrington Wolves (16 September, 7.45pm KO) before Leeds Rhinos take on Hull KR (17 September, 7.45pm KO) live on Sky Sports.
The Rhinos are currently in the final play off spot in sixth place whilst Tony Smith’s side are one place above them. A win for Hull KR will guarantee their play off spot whilst the Rhinos will overtake Hull KR with with victory. On Thursday night, Castleford Tigers, who are now one place below Leeds, face Warrington. Should Daryl Powell’s team lose against his future employer that could also offer a chance to Leeds but the clearest route to the play offs is by winning against Hull KR via points difference percentage. For this season, with teams having played different amount of games due to Covid, the final positions are decided using the following method:
– Percentage calculated by dividing points by matches played, x 50
– Positions to be determined by points scored percentage, calculated by dividing the number of points scored by the number of points conceded, x 100
If Castleford win on Thursday they will finish in 6th and play at Warrington in the play offs. Fifth place will be the winner of Leeds v Hull KR and play at Wigan in the first round of the play offs.
If the Tigers lose then the winner of Leeds v Hull KR will finish 5th and the loser will progress into the play offs in sixth.
You can now book your place at the biggest game of the season at Emerald Headingley at tickets.therhinos.co.uk on an emotional night as the Rhinos will also say farewell to Konrad Hurrell, King Vuniyayawa, Rob Lui and Alex Sutcliffe at the final home game of the season.
