Newman set to return for Rhinos

Harry Newman

Leeds Rhinos star Harry Newman could make his long awaited return to action this Friday when the Rhinos travel to Perpignan to face Catalans Dragons after being included in Richard Agar’s initial 21 man squad.

Newman suffered a double leg fracture back in September 2021 but, having been given all the all clear to return by the specialists, he could now return to action as early as Friday night.

The Rhinos are without Rhyse Martin and Bodene Thompson through suspension whilst Ash Handley and Mikolaj Oledzki are both isolating due to close contacts with family members.

Leeds also welcome back young half back Callum McLelland, who could make his first appearance of 2021, however Rob Lui is ruled out with the injury he suffered against Warrington Wolves recently.

Back Jack Broadbent is sidelined following the ankle injury he suffered in the first half of the win at Warrington.

Leeds are also without Jack Broadbent (ankle), Zane Tetevano (Covid), Alex Sutcliffe (knee) and Jack Walker (foot).

Leeds Rhinos season and flexi members can watch Friday’s game live on the Our League app with full live coverage of the game plus the match will be on Sky Sports Arena, with coverage from 6.10pm. With restrictions on crowds being lifted on Monday, this will be the last game that is available for season and flexi members on the Our League app this season.
