Martin and Thompson ruled out of Catalans trip

Leeds Rhinos will travel to Perpignan this Friday for their Betfred Super League clash with Catalans Dragons without two of their starting line up from last Friday’s clash with the Dragons after Bodene Thompson and Rhyse Martin were handed a three and one game ban respectively by the Match Review Panel.

Thompson was charged with making a Dangerous Throw, defined as lifting player into a dangerous position, in the fourth minute of the game at Emerald Headingley and received a Grade C charge, which carries a three game ban.

Rhyse Martin was alleged to have made a late hit on the passer in the 71st minute and was given a Grade B charge which carries a one game ban.

Catalans also will be without a couple of players after Joel Tomkins and James Maloney were both banned for two games. Tomkins for a dangerous throw in the 14th minute whilst Maloney has been sanctioned for a late hit on passer in the 15th minute, both carry Grade B charges and result in two game bans for the pair.
