Newman impresses on TV debut

Leeds centre Harry Newman speaking on Sky Sports

Whilst the result on the field was disappointing for Leeds Rhinos on Sunday night, young star Harry Newman had success off the pitch with an impressive debut as Sky Sports guest for the broadcasters coverage of the Round 7 Betfred Super League clash.

Newman, who is nearing his return from a double leg break last season, joined host Brian Carney in the studio to preview and review the Rhinos clash with Hull FC and he was a hit with viewers who took to social media to say how pleased they were to see a new face and hear a fresh voice talking about the game.

It is the second time this year that a Rhinos player has got great reviews for their analysis behind the microphone after Leeds Rhinos Womens skipper Courtney Winfield-Hill joined the Sky Sports team for the first time for Round One of this year’s Betfred Super League at Emerald Headingley.

We are all hoping that Harry will not have so much time on his hands in the coming weeks as he returns to action but we are looking forward to the next opportunity he gets to give his views on the game.
