Top Five Super League Moments vs Hull KR

Leeds and Hull KR meet at Hull College Craven Park in the Betfred Super League table this Friday night, with only points difference separating them in the League table.

Ahead of the match, we are taking a trip down memory lane by looking at five of the top moments from our previous Super League League clashes against the Robins.

5. 2018 – Moon solo effort helps Rhinos back to winning ways

As Leeds battled to avoid the Qualifiers, they clashed with rivals Hull KR in round 13. Although it was a late penalty goal from Kallum Watkins that sealed the result on that day, half back/centre Joel Moon scored one of the tries of the game – breaking through the Robins’ defence and fending off two defenders to score under the posts.

4. 2019 – Four galore for Hurrell

Despite losing to Hull KR in the first meeting of the 2019 season, Konrad Hurrell produced one of the highlight performances of the year, scoring four tries. The centre, who joined the club from Gold Coast Titans at the start of 2019, had already scored five tries coming into the game and nearly doubled his season’s tally in one game.

3. 2014 – Briscoe debuts with a hat trick

Winger Tom Briscoe made the perfect start to his Leeds career by scoring a hat trick against Hull KR in round one of the 2014 Super League season. The England international was assisted for all his tries by centre partner Kallum Watkins in the 34-6 win, which was the Rhinos’ sixth Super League win over Rovers at Craven Park.

2. 2007 – Leeds claim first Super League away win over Rovers

Having suffered defeat by two points against Hull KR earlier in the 2007 season, the Rhinos returned in May to defeat Justin Morgan’s side 18-10 in a hard fought match. One of the highlight tries from that game came courtesy of Jordan Tansey, who provided support following a Sinfield break to score under the posts and secure the two League points for the visitors.

1. 2012 – Sinfield drop goal crowns comeback

Included in our countdown of our top 100 games, our 2012 comeback win against Hull KR is one of our most favourite moments at Craven Park. Leeds found themselves 18-6 down at the break but the visitors dug deep and brought the score level, thanks to tries from Ryan Hall and Danny McGuire. Carl Ablett crossed soon after to put the Rhinos ahead but Louis Sheriff looked to have won it for the Robins until captain Kevin Sinfield successfully converted a penalty goal and slotted a last minute drop goal to win the game.
