ON THIS DAY in 2005 Leeds Rhinos produced an awesome showing at Odsal, destroying their local rivals 42-12 and clocking up the Bulls heaviest defeat at Odsal in the summer era.
Chev Walker scored the first of the Rhinos seven goals and Gareth Ellis, Keith Senior, Rob Burrow, Kevin Sinfield and Mark Calderwood scored the rest.
ON THIS DAY in 2008 Leeds continued their busy Easter schedule with a visit to the KC Stadium, where the Rhinos had lost on their last two visits. Following on from their victory over Bradford four days earlier the Rhinos were looking to continue their winning form and make it three games in a row without conceding a try.
The Rhinos did conceded but earned a 30-4 win thanks to tries from Brent Webb, Lee Smith, Rob Burrow, Kevin Sinfield and Carl Ablett.
ON THIS DAY in 2016 the Rhinos suffered a 18-14 away defeat against Castleford Tigers. A superb display for Luke Gale inspired the Tigers, who had lost their previous game a week earlier against Warrington 56-12.
Tom Briscoe, Kallum Watkins and Joel Moon got the tries for the Rhinos and Sutcliffe added a conversion but the Tigers just edged the derby.
ON THIS DAY in 2017 tries from Tom Briscoe, Ryan Hall, Carl Ablett, Matt Parcell and Jordan Baldwinson helped seal a 28-12 win for Leeds at he John Smith’s Stadium.
