Leeds Rhinos Foundation continue to offer support for schools
During the recent lockdown Leeds Rhinos Foundation is continuing to give support to schools, by delivering live Wake Up Shake Up sessions, assemblies and offering PE lessons for children studying at home.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation work in 75 schools across Leeds, delivering their multi-sport sessions based around the needs of individual schools to support their curriculum.
Although staff are unable to visit schools, the charity has consulted with their partner schools to see how they continue to support them during the current Covid-19 health crisis.
Lesson plans have been devised for children to do at home that not only focus on the children doing physical activity but also covering literacy, language, numeracy, art and technology.
Gareth Cook, Community Manager at Leeds Rhinos Foundation said: “This is a very difficult time for schools, children and families and our charity is committed to helping them as much as we can. We have designed some fun activities that we hope will keep children engaged at home and that parents will be able to help deliver easily.”
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Dance Development Officer Nicola Booth is also running regular Wake Up Shake Up routines so that children get active and motivated for the day ahead and the charity will also be recording some assemblies which families can access that will cover subjects such as healthy living and wellbeing.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation also have a library of At Home Activity Challenges suitable for primary schoolchildren. CLICK HERE to watch.
