ON THIS DAY in 1961 Derek Davies and Abe Terry made their debuts for Leeds against Hull KR. Following a Yorkshire Cup Final defeat against Wakefield a week earlier, the management signed Davies, a stand off, from Bradford Nothern, and Terry, a prop forward, from St Helens. Davies went on to make 49 appearances and scored 17 tries and Terry scored three tries in 28 games.

In this game Leeds lost their sixth game of the season in the league, with only Eddie Ratcliffe able to get over for a try in a 10-5 defeat.

ON THIS DAY in 1972, Leeds continued their impressive start to the season with their eleventh win from twelve games against Castleford. Alan Hardisty and Phil Cookson played a big part in secruing the 20-5 victory with two tries each and Terry Clawson and John Holmes added the goals.
