ON THIS DAY in 1980 Kevin Sinfield was born. The legendary Rhinos player became the most successful captain in the club’s history having led his team to seven Championships, two Challenge Cup and three league leaders shield.
He is the club’s record points scorer and in 2014 when he was awarded a MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and he fulfilled a long held ambition to finally lead his side to glory in the Challenge Cup.
ON THIS DAY in 2010 Leeds and Wigan produced a contest that would have graced any Grand Final with an incredible 27-26 win for the Rhinos sealed in the final second.
ON THIS DAY in 2014 the Rhinos suffered yet another defeat by a single score as they allowed a 19-4 lead slip in the second half at the KC Stadium.
Ryan Hall, Danny McGuire and Carl Ablett all scored for the Rhinos in the final game before the play offs but Hull came back to win 24-19.
ON THIS DAY in 2015 the Rhinos endured a bitterly disappointing night in Perpignan as they suffered a mauling at the hands of the Dragons in their latest Super 8s clash, losing out 46-16.
