Leeds Rhinos Greatest Super League games 60-51

Leeds Rhinos are counting down the 100 Greatest Super League games for the club including all regular season, Super 8s, Qualifiers, Play offs and Grand Final matches building up to revealing our greatest ever Super League game on Easter Monday.

And you can play your part in selecting the final top twenty. Our panel of experts have shortlisted the top 100 and we have announced the top twenty games in date order. You just need to send us the order you think those games should be in. We will collate the votes and that will form the top twenty to be revealed over the Easter Weekend.

Every person who sends in their top twenty will go into a draw to win a VIP package for four at a Rhinos home game of their choice once the Betfred Super League gets back underway so we can all enjoy the start of the next 100 greatest games!

60. Hull FC v Leeds Rhinos 2015

Leeds Rhinos produced an incredible second half performance to run in seven unanswered tries to seal a memorable fightback at the KC Stadium.

59. Leeds Rhinos v Toronto Wolfpack 2020

Leeds Rhinos were sent top of the Betfred Super League for the time being thanks to a 66-12 demolition of Toronto Wolfpack at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Luke Gale put in a Man of the Match performance, scoring a brace along with half back partner Rob Lui, who crossed twice in the first half.

58. Leeds Rhinos v St Helens 2007

Leeds Rhinos took on Champions St Helens at Headingley with both teams going for the title again in Tony Smith’s final season in charge of the Rhinos.

57. Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Leeds Rhinos 2005

Leeds Rhinos were in red hot form when they arrived at Belle Vue to face Wakefield in June 2005 in particular Ali Lauitiiti.

The giant Kiwi international went over for five tries of the rout of Trinity.

56. Wigan Warriors v Leeds Rhinos 2013

Leeds Rhinos travelled to Wigan Warriors towards the end of the 2013 season in a game remembered as the ‘Superman match’ with both teams sporting the iconic superheroes logo on the front of their shirts as part of a unique marketing campaign between the two clubs.

The game was made even more poignant with Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Peacock leaving his father’s side to produce a heroic effort for the visitors before returning to say his final goodbyes to his dad. A match that all those involved in still talk about in emotional terms.

55. Hull FC v Leeds Rhinos 2010

Leeds Rhinos travelled to the KC Stadium in the final game of the 2010 regular season the week after defeat at Wembley to Warrington looking for a morale boosting win going into the play offs.

54. Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls 2002

Leeds Rhinos inflicted a 28-20 defeat on Super League leaders Bradford Bulls in a classic at Headingley.

The Rhinos had not beaten Bradford since July 2000 and had gone behind 10-0 through Tevita Vaikona’s try and three Paul Deacon goals before Kevin Sinfield and Willie Poching’s scores, converted by Ben Walker edged them ahead at the break.

Tries to Wayne McDonald and Tonie Carroll sent Leeds 24-10 ahead before Robbie Paul replied, but two more Walker goals – the Australian had also been successfully switched to full back – sealed the win before Stuart Fielden’s late score.

53. St Helens v Leeds Rhinos 2000

Leeds recorded their biggest away win against St Helens in 2000 as Dean Lance’s side pushed for the top four. Captain Iestyn Harris and winger Karl Pratt both crossed twice at Knowsley Road, while Keith Senior, Francis Cummins and Andy Hay also recorded tries.

52. Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors 2016

Leeds Rhinos produced one of the best wins of a disappointing campaign to give them the perfect lift heading into the Super League Qualifiers. Brian McDermott’s side defeated the eventual Champions with an impressive all round performance.

51. Leeds Rhinos v Huddersfield Giants 1999

Leeds Rhinos ran riot against Mal Reilly’s Huddersfield Giants side at Headingley to secure a record win in the summer era and Iestyn Harris setting a club record of 42 points in the game from four tries and 13 goals.
