Women Team News: Squad named for Grand Final

Adam Cuthbertson has named his side to play Castleford Tigers Women in the Women’s Betfred Super League Grand Final this Friday at the Totally Wicked Stadium, kick off 7.30pm.

In a repeat of this year’s Challenge Cup Final, the Rhinos will face league leaders Castleford Tigers Women in their second consecutive Grand Final appearance.

England international Shannon Lacey will miss out due to concussion after suffering a head injury in the semi-final against St Helens. She joins Suze Hill, Sophie Robinson, Lois Forsell and Lucy Hewitt who are ruled out with injury.

Rhinos Academy captain, Paige Webster, who made her debut against St Helens earlier this season comes into the squad. Webster is an East Leeds player, who has made four appearances for the team this year.

Abby Eatock, who has scored six tries in four appearances this season, two coming in the semi-final, is also included in the squad, which will be led by the team’s leading points and try scorer, Courtney Hill, who was named Woman of Steel on Sunday.

Official Coach Travel will depart from Car Park F at the Emerald Headingley Stadium at 5pm for this game. Fans can purchase travel for £16 return.

Alternatively, a second pick up point in Leeds City Centre is available next to the Yorkshire Post Building. Coaches will pick up at the bus stop on the slip road between Wellington Street and Wellington Road (A58). This can be booked at the point of sale – please stipulate where you wish to depart from. The coach will depart from Emerald Headingley Stadium and pick up en route therefore please ensure you are present within 10 minutes of the departure time from Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Tickets for the match are priced at £5 for adults and concessions (seniors citizens 65 & over, student and serving military) and for juniors under 16 it is only £1. Tickets can be purchased via rugby-league.com/tickets or fans can pay cash on the day.
